Is July a good time to travel ? what is the weather like ? many rainy days ??
Like much of northern Europe, the answer is unpredictable, although because the Ardenne typically lies 400-500 metres above sea level it is always likely to be a few degrees cooler particularly at night.
To give an example, last year on April 1 we still had some snow on the ground, this year we are wondering whether we shouldn't go out in short sleeve shirts. Last year July was rather pleasant with the odd day seeing 30 degrees, this year it could be the same, or there could be a real heatwave or it could be largely cloudy, wet and cool (for summer).
With hindsight, I would have said that March was a really good month to be here this year - although the swallows have yet to arrive.
