Best town base for Battle of the Bulge tour

My family of 6 adults will be visiting the Battle of the Bulge sites next May 2012. We will have a car and would like to stay in a self-catering cottage for a week in a nice town centrally located with good pubs, restaurants. Any suggestions for the best town? Clervaux or Bastogne or another? Thank you!

You could also look at La Roche en Ardenne, it has restaurants (Hotel du Midi is good) and bars. It has a museum in the town centre covering the Battle of the Bulge, and a period tank on a plinth in the central car park.

Thanks Travelin! I had seen that town on some website, but it helps to hear more about it. I'll look for it as a base for our trip. Thanks again.

I highly recommend staying in Bastogne if you are doing a Battle of the Bulge Tour. Also, since the sights are spread out you may want to consider hiring a local guide. The link to one is attached below.
