Nice/unique restaurants for an evening in Gent?

Next week I am going to Gent with my boyfriend. My boyfriend and I have been apart for about 3 months and that first evening in Gent will be our reunion - hence I want to choose a nice restaurant for us to go to. Preferably not something super fancy and expensive, unless it has great features such as a great setting. Basically - I'd like a place with a nice setting and nice food that will impress him on the reunion night.

Plus - any nice suggestions of where to take him on the first day (nice spots in the city) would be great! I volunteered ton plan this trip for us two but am feeling a bit lost so thanks for any help!

I don't know whether you would consider these as "super fancy and expensive" (by which I would understand Michelin starred, which these are not), but:

- Pakhuis is beautiful: if you don't eat in the restaurant you could visit the bar/café (e.g. for apéritifs on the way to Belga Queen, which is just around the corner!): www.pakhuis.be/en/atmosphere/restaurant

- I've had a couple of nice meals at Belga Queen, which has a particularly nice location on Graslei, see http://www.visitgent.be/en/resto-belga-queen and http://www.belgaqueen.be/en/Ghent.aspx

- The Foyer Brasserie at NT Gent on Sint-Baafsplein is wood-panelled and cosy, although no good for a late dinner - you can't order much later than 21:00 hrs, if I remember rightly: http://www.foyerntgent.be/ (and http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g188666-d1179044-Reviews-FOYER_NTGENT-Ghent_East_Flanders_Province.html)

Or you could just wander around the Patershol district, which is full of restaurants, and see what you like the look of, such as 't Klaverblad (tripadvisor.com/…REVIEWS) or for utterly unpretentious, all-you-can eat spareribs (and some other things) in what feels like someone's living room/ library, Amadeus: amadeus-resto.be/amadeus-gent-1-patershol/… (also http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g188666-d740683-Reviews-Amadeus-Ghent_East_Flanders_Province.html#REVIEWS).
