Grand Hotel Casselbergh - help with room options, please

Hello. For those of you who have stayed at this hotel, here is my dilemma: a smaller (25 sq meter) room ("quality room") with a canal view, or a larger (36 sq. m) room ("Deluxe room) with no canal view??

A few posters wrote that if they got a low level canal side room there was no canal view, and then I know I would be disappointed.

I love looking at water, if possible!

Thank you.

If you love looking at the water then you might want to consider booking another hotel. Casselbergh is a marvellous hotel: very luxurious, well appointed and comfortable rooms and lovely public areas... no doubt about that. But IMO when it comes to canal view there are better options available in Bruges.

If you google "canal view from casselbergh hotel bruges" you can find these two photos:

Canal view from a room:

View on Casselbergh rooms from the canal:

The thing with Casselbergh is that the building itself (and therefore the rooms) do not border on the canals, there is still some space between the hotel and the canal. There are a number of hotels where you would be able to jump from your window into the canal..... so to speak. I think that's what you're looking for, right?

Anyway, I have made a list containing all hotels and b&b's with canal view rooms:

Have a look at it and feel free to post your short list on the forum to ask recommendations / advice.

Kind regards,
