Train ticket to Amsterdam

Hi,

Do I need to purchase train ticket to Amsterdam in advance? Will there be any cost saving options? It's for 2 people traveling on July 31 early morning. Thanks

No and no, cost by InterCity train - which requires changing in Antwerp - is the same (€48) whenever you buy the ticket, although you will pay an additional €3.50 for purchase (per purchase, not per ticket) at a station rather than online from http://www.b-europe.com/Travel

If you wanted to take the high-speed Thalys, on the other hand, cutting 1 hr off the time, you must reserve in advance and tickets for these trains, which start at €53 (unless special offer), increase in price as the cheaper fares sell out. For high-speed trains the administrative fee for purchase at the station is €7 and you would change to Thalys at Bruxelles-Midi.
