Belgium visa

I applied for Belgium visa under EU spouse category on 5th June and we are looking to go on 13th June . I have had schengen visas processed within 3-5 working days in the past however I have been advised that belgium embassy takes minimum 10 working days , has anyone got visa within a week of applying recently ?

An "EU spouse" visa sounds like a long-stay BELGIAN residential visa rather than a Schengen tourist visa, in which case, anyone with experience of getting one is unlikely to be frequenting this forum. But even if they are, they will probably have applied at a Belgian Embassy in a different country from the one you applied to, and certainly at a different time, so it is hard to see how their experience could be relevant to yours. The time taken to process any application will depend on staffing levels both at the local embassy and at the relevant office in Brussels, and the number (and complexity) of applications at the time.

Personally I would have applied one month before you needed the visa, but the only people who can tell you how long it might take to get your particular visa in your particular circumstances are the staff of the embassy which is processing your application.

Yes. According to the Schengen Visa Handbook, the aim should be to issue a visa of this kind within 15 days of the application.

…europa.eu/home-affairs/…c_2010_1620_en.pdf - page 91

("3.3 ... Member States shall grant third country family members of EU citizens ... every facility to obtain the necessary visa ... and afford to such visa applicants the best conditions to obtain the entry visa.

3.4. ... The visas must be issued as soon as possible and on the basis of an accelerated procedure ... Processing times for a visa application lodged by a third-country national who is a family member of an EU citizen ... going beyond 15 days should be exceptional and duly justified.").
