I have the opportunity to visit Portugal for 4-5 days. I would fly in to either Faro or Lisbon. I am really interested in the more traditional picturesque fishing village and beautiful beaches with cliffs. I know that this is pretty typical in the Algarve Region of the South, and in particular the village of Salema, Portugal. Would I need to rent a car to get to Salema from Lisbon, or is the public transportation pretty doable. Also are there other beautiful old fishing villages with pretty beaches nearer to Lisbon than the far south? I love to get off the beaten path, and see beautiful but less touristy areas, but I don't speak Portuguese, so that would be a consideration as well. Thank you so much!!!!
