Travelling from North to South

Hi. I am planning to spend the Easter Weekend in Braga and was hoping to travel to the Algarve afterwards for the remainder of my trip (ideally Lagos).

I have been searching for ways to travel between the two but with much difficulty. I am aware that my best bet would probably be to travel back to Porto from Braga (by train) but from there what would my options be?

Any links, prices or other relevant information would be extremely helpful.

Many thanks.

Here's the website for the train: https://www.cp.pt/cp/displayPage.do…

If you go to the timetable/prices tab you can select Braga and Lagos.

You'll get a number of trains. You can click on 'detail' to see the route. The easiest is the IC (intercity) train with a switch in Lisbon Oriente and Tunes.

The fastest is the AP (AlfaPendular) but again a change of trains in Lisbon Oriente and Tunes.

The prices are also mentioned in this schedule.

You can book online from Braga to Tunes from 60 days ahead of time. The Tunes - Lagos train is a regional one and you can not book it online. Either buy it before you leave in Braga or in Tunes (you'll have time for that).

Another option is the bus: http://www.rede-expressos.pt/

If you select 'timetables and prices' you'll see the results. The price is lower than the train.

I'm adding one more thing. There are Ryanair flights from Porto to Faro.

There are busses from Braga to Porto airport http://getbus.eu/index.php?seccao=2&lang=en

From Faro you could take a bus into the city (nearby) and continue by Lagos by bus or train.

Also have a look at bus company www.renex.pt.

They are based in Braga and run Braga, Porto, Lisbon Oriente, Algarve.

One changes bus usually at Lisbon Oriente.

Only problem is that they don't have online booking.
