Water park question

Is it best to make your own way to the waterparks (slide n splash?) or do the hotels have their own deals? We are staying at the Brisa Sol in May with two teenagers who may make their own way there one day and were wondering if it's easy to get to by bus.

In my opinion you would be best to get one of the park busses from all of the major resorts. Without your own transport this would be the best option.

Agreed. It is not easy to get to Slide n Splash by ordinary bus although it can be done. They run their own buses from and to all the major tourist hotels, as do the other waterparks.

I guess the downside is that you might have to stay longer than you wished!

Zoomarine is rather easier (buses stop right outside) but they will first have to make their way to the main Albufeira bus station, which is about half a mile uphill from the Brisa Sol.

Times for ordinary buses if you need them are on my website at www.algarvebus.info/002w.htm (...002e.htm for the way back) and the journey is about 15 minutes.

Hope that helps.

Thanks guys, that's a great help. Will we see the park buses dotted around the area, do you know if they stop anywhere near the Brisa Sol? We were thinking that slide n splash is more suited to older teens, ie more bigger rides etc that's why they're keen to go there.

You should be able to get a deal on the slide and splash waterpark from the Modelo shopping centre next door.

park website is www.slidesplash.com

There is also a pick-up from outside the Brisa Sol

We went to the Aqualand waterpark from Albufeira by pre booked taxi, it cost 30 euros return and meant we were there from opening to closing time, the buses arrived after us and returned about 4 pm so you would have to clock watch. Also found the last few hours(up to 7pm in August)were very peaceful with no queues once the buses had left taking the hordes with them!

Did the same to go to zoomarine and again our entire day was filled seeing all the shows, using the pools and going on the rides. We had also pre booked to swim with the dolphins so needed the entire day to do it all. Again the buses return to resort mid to late afternoon.

I don't think the taxi fare for 4 and the entrance fees worked out that much more expensive than doing it by bus especially when you consider the extra hours spent at the attraction.
