To Morrocco

Hello everyone!

I have been doing some research on how to get to Morrocco (without a tour package) from the Algarve. I see that we need to cross over to Spain to Tangier and take the ferry there. So which bus gets us there? Is there a website? Also, which ferry line should we book through (trying to book in advance of going).

I appreciate any help/guidance!

It's a very long journey by public transportation.

You don't mention where you will be staying in the Algarve but there are several departures from here to Sevilla:

(remember times are local and it's one hour later in Spain)

It arrives at Plaza de Armas

then switch to San Sebastian bus station for bus from Sevilla to Linea de Concepcion:

and walk accross the border into Gibraltar (one hour earlier there).

for the ferry: http://www.frs.es/timetable.php

I personally would take a day tour from the Algarve and once in Gibraltar tell the driver that I won't return. It's so much quicker, cheaper and without hassle.

That last idea might not work if you get on board with three suitcases.

There are also ferries to Morocco from Tarifa and Algeciras in Spain but both places are very long journeys, basically taking all day. And you still have to undertake the ferry crossing.

Buses from Seville to these places www.tgcomes.es and www.linesur.es

There are also trains from Seville to Algeciras.

Ryan Air also fly to Marrakech from Seville. Got very cheap flights last year.

One of the day tour operators: http://www.followmetours.net

in case you want to contact them if you could come along on the day tour, one way.

We went by car; took the hoverspeed over from Tarifa - the fastest crossing. Think it took 35 minutes.

Thanks for everyone's advice and suggestions - I will look into ryanair and considering the time factor may just visit Morocco another trip.

Thank you!
