This is some info on baby formulas. I originally found this information for a friend a while ago & luckily saved a copy of it. Hope you can understand it & it gives you an idea of whats available.

Cow & Gate baby milks are marketed under the "Nutrilon" brand

Nutrilon 1, 2, & 3 are equivalent to Cow & Gate 1, 2, & 3.

Nutrilon Confort 1 & 2 are equivalent to comfort 1 & 2.

Nutrilon AR 1 & 2 are for babies with reflux problems.

Nutrilon HA 1 & 2 are hypo-allergenic but are not soy based.

*****************************************************************

Aptamil milks are still marketed as Aptamil aptamil 1, 2 & 3: Aptamil Pepti: Aptamil HA (1,2,&3) for infants with allergies;

Aptamil confort (Comfort 1 & 2);

*****************************************************************

SMA baby milks are sold as s-26 Gold 1, 2 & 3 (From Wyeth Nutricao) which are equivalent to SMA 1, 2 & 3: There doesn't appear to be an equivalent of SMA extra hungry.

SMA special milks (with their portuguese equivalents) Wysoy (Visoy),

Staydown (s-26 AR):

SMA LF ( s-26 sem lactose)

******************************************************************

The supermarkets commonly stock Aptamil & Nutrilon including the hypo allergenic ones, but other brands & special milks like those for reflux are stocked in the farmacias.

All main supermarkets stock a good range of baby food & packets of baby cereals. Bledina ( a Milupa brand) do both jars & various baby rice & cereals.

Celerac baby jars & cereals (made by Nestle) are also commonly available.

The main supermarkets in Albufeira are Modelo which is near Solaqua, Pingo Doce which is across the road from Modelo at the Watches roundabout (there is also another branch near the worms roundabout), Lidl & Echo-Marche.

Solaqua are great apartments, we stayed there two years ago. The Modelo is a 2minute walk and Pingo is about 4 minutes. Have fun.
