Not sure about area of Janelas Do Mar but Taj Mahal situated at the top end of the strip (Montechoro Hotel side) is good, also owned by same family is Bombay Palace on the main dual carriagway just past the taxi rank going toward the old town from the strip is excellent. Also Minar situated in the Old town of Albufeira.

There are two more Indian restaurants on this stretch, Simran Palace & Clay Oven more or less next door to each other but we prefer the Bombay

This link should be centered on the traffic lights where the strip crosses the dual carriageway. The northern half (going towards Montechoro) is often thought as not being part of the strip and indeed most of the places are south of the main road, where the A marker is. But the other section shouldn't be ignored completely.

If you zoom out a bit you will see the stadium to the top left. Janelas do Mar is the three buildings to the right of that under where it says EB2,3 Francisco Cabrita - a school.

Sorry I don´t know details of who will be open again early April, but with Easter late next year most re-openings will be there or there abouts.

excellent, thanks very much

i think i have my bearings, if i walk down the hill from Janelos Do Mar and across Ruo Julio Dantas, i believe i can cut across waste ground and be at the upper part of strip where the Taj Mahal restaurant and some family type bars are located, is this correct?

i could then make my way down across the main road towards point A,

It's near the top end of the 'strip' on the main road across town the Avenida dos Descobrimentos.

X marks the spot. Zoom out to see the area.
