Faro on the bus on a Sunday

Hi

We're traveling and stopping at CPO in Albulfeira for a long weekend next week. I know it's going to be quiet and the weathers not very good .One day we plan a trip to Faro on the bus . I've been told where to get the bus from on another post. The Sunday we are there has the worst weather so would it be a idea to go on this day or will everywhere be shut.

Thanks Sally

www.ipma.pt/en/otempo/prev.10dias/… is the national weather website with a forecast for a drizzle next week sunday. The forecasts tend to change so just keep an eye on it. We hardly ever have full days with rain, usually it's a shower and after a couple of hours it clears up. Stay positive, the glass is half full and not half empty :)

Faro is very nice to visit but rather quiet on a Sunday. Shops will be closed, the shopping mall Forum Algarve will be open though.

If it's not too bad weather-wise then it's nice to walk around the marina area and go inside the old city walls for a look around. There are a lot of cafés and restaurants in the city centre, which is mostly pedestrian streets.

Im longing for a bit of sun but I'm sure we will have a good time anyway .

Sounds like Sunday wouldn't be a goiod choice to go to faro so maybe will go on Saturday instead.

Cubsur Shen you say the marina is there a marina near the old town or do you mean Villamora . Sorry to ask a stupid question but really don't know Alburfura at all

Just read the link FTHW gave me the marina is at Faro sorry for asking silly questions . Faro and the Marina looks like somewhere to visit just not on the Sunday. If the weather not good on the Sunday we will walk between bars and cafés after all we will be helping the local economies .

There is a small marina in the centre of Faro by the Hotel EVA, +- 150 metres from the bus station.

If operating, the tourist train that goes around Faro is quite interesting, You can get on it at the small marina by Eva Hotel.

No, the tourist train unfortunately doesn't run at the moment.

A typical sunday is having a nice long walk and then lunch. Why don't you take the bus to Vilamoura, have a coffee at the marina and - if you are still in the mood - walk along the sea side to Quarteira (it's about 15 min.) You will find a 2 kilometer long promenade in Quarteira with lots of restaurants. Not all will be open on Sunday but there are plenty to choose from.

And if the sun comes out, you're right on the beach with many terraces to have a drink and enjoy the sunshine.

From Quarteira you can take the bus back to Albufeira.

FTHW love your idea about the bus to Villamora and then walk to Quarteira. . Is the bus station in Quarteira easy to find for our return home and sorry to be a pain but does anyone know how late the buses run on a Sunday. Thanks for the help everyone really looking forward to it now..
