Lagos hotels with 80 y.o. mom

Taking my mom to Lagos for her 80th b-day. She's spry but not too many steps. Loves the beach and views. I speak Portuguese.

Where to stay, $100 or so per night.

Thanks!

Try:

Marina Rio

http://www.marinario.com/

Marina Club

http://www.marinaclub.pt/

Both of these are down by the river side and on the flat. She should be able to get to the Marina Complex and Town Centre slowly without to much hassle.

Thanks but I think we would prefer something on the beach.

Any ideas?

Avoiding "too many steps" and being on the beach itself leaves you with the single option of Meia Praia.

One could argue for Praia Porto do Mos, but that is certainly well well beyond walking distance of Lagos centre.

Personally I don't count Praia Porto do Mos as Lagos, although it is an option worth considering.

Hi sunndays

I thought those apartments were situated near to dona ana beach. Would I be correct?

Thanks to everyone. I guess Aqualuz has Spar Hill to negotiate back from the beach. We will have a rental car so maybe up on the mesa might be quieter since there's not too many places on the beach. Don't really want a 5 star place. We will be doing day trips. Would Albufeira be better? My nieces seem to think Lagos is the happenin spot. I visited the Algarve over 20 years ago so the memory has faded.

Thanks again

dona ana beach is one of the worst beaches to negotiate for the none too sprightly. Aside getting there, the steps are many, steep, and precarious.

By a remarkable coincidence we are taking my partner's 80 year old mother to Lagos next May.

The stock answer would be actually on the Marina, but this may be worth a view:

Patio Do Convento development. See:

www.holiday-rentals.co.uk

On the flat (aside an incline) and equidistant from both the Marina and old town centre.

Admittedly not the prettiest or frankly even best lit approach late at night, but neither is it the worst. Safe enough that I and my partner have used it and booked to use it again next year.

Any other information you might need, do not hesitate to contact me.
