If you are looking to book a rental in western Algarve, BEWARE - do not fall into the same 'trap' as we did. We booked a villa on the ALMA VERDE resort for 2 weeks costing approx £3500. Prior to my booking, I questioned whether there were any on-going building works close to the property. The management for the villa said that all works ceased during August as the site would not permit this during a peak period. They indicated that a nearby villa was close to completion in July, and as we were arriving on 26th there maybe only internal finishing for a few days. Work continued throughout our 2 weeks involving JCB DIGGERS and WAGONS. Several vehicles would arrive from 07.30 am and noise would continue until approx 5pm. The villa management accepted partial blame for the disruption and refunded £200 but Alma Verde resort management did not want to know and were, in my opinion, totally unprofessional. They accepted that work had been carried out, but they had no intention of resolving the issue. My expectance was a similar ammount of compensation as I received from the villa management, which was not too much to ask for after paying £3500 and they having acepted the disruption occurred. The resort is a 'million miles' from completion as there are still many plots to fill and the rest of the site could take a couple of years to finish. I HAVE NUMEROUS PHOTOS WHICH VERIFY MY CONCERNS FOR FUTURE HOLIDAY MAKERS THAT MAY DEAL WITH ALMA VERDE RESORT MANAGEMENT.
