Weather

Hi all, having a bbq on 22 March and am keen to track the weather, can anyone please advise a reliable website to check out the temperatures (although nothing can be 100% accurate). Have checked a few online but all tend to differ slightly. Depending on the weather does anyone know where patio heaters can be hired/purchased.

Thank you.

Here's our national website with a 10 day forecast. Keep checking back as it tends to change. www.ipma.pt/en/otempo/prev.localidade/…

It will not be easy to find patio heaters. Electricity is very expensive here.

Some of the big DIY stores stock those big gas space heaters which use bottled gas. Again expensive. A few of the restaurants here in Albufeira use them for their outside tables in winter.

Off the top of my head I cannot find anyone who hires such things.

We are likely to have daytime temperatures in the 19 or 20C range next week, although I admit down in Lagos it can be a a bit windy and feel a bit cool once the sun goes down.

You can try Leroy Merlin for this. They are in Guia, next to Makro. http://goo.gl/maps/3X8mZ

For heaven's sake don't look at that weather forecast site just now or you'll stay at home. It has been raining since we got here today and the weather forecast is the same for the next 7 days. You won't need patio heaters. Think waterproofs and wellies! Let's hope it's just a case of a very depressed weather man. We brought some cheap but OK wine with is from Spain and we're not going out till the rain stops or the wine dries up.

Hope you have better luck! If you can't eat any fat, Jack Sprat, smear it all over yourself for protection.

at least you can see where it's coming from and how much more is on it's way.

If you like wine, you can go a loooong way trying all our national wines!

Just an update the weather was great last week, sunny and best of all it stayed fine for the BBQ. Couldn't believe how lucky we were especially in March. Must admit it came cool at night the patio heaters went down a treat, will be returning for Easter so hoping the weather behaves for us once again. Nothing wrong with the local wines, and that goes for the 52 of us that sampled it!!! Thanks again for the replies.

You did well with the weather, pleased to hear it turned out well. It's been a bit wet and windy this past couple of days.

Glad you had a good time.

BTW, Where did you get the patio heaters from in the end?
