Hotel choices - advice please

Hi

We are planning a last minute trip to Sao Miguel On Aug 11th. We will only be there for 6 days (land Sat night and leave Sat morning) but can't decdie where to stay.

We've been offered Hotel De Colegio in Ponta Delgada, or Convento Sao Francisco in Vila Franca de campo.

Does anyone have any advice about which location is better?

Is the city very busy and therefore less relaxing?

Is Vila Franca de campo too far out to stay for 6 nights if we want to explore the island?

thank you for any advice

Stay in Ponta Delgada, it's a small town.

Each of them I quite good!

Colégio Hotel is quite center of the city of Ponat Delgada, but in a quite calm narrow street. Many years ago was a private small school and then is was reconstruted to become a Hotel. So it montaines several old things there, with a litle modern touch for teh Hotel facilities (5 to 8 mins fro the Airport).

Convento dos Franciscanos is (20 to 25 mins from the Airport on the highway with no trafic now in Summer, easy to find when you arrive Vila Franca do Campo town) It was a Convent and again, it was recoverde to become a Hotel, Splendid view of the Islet of Vila Franca do Campo,

All of them tha I recall have good facilities!

Ponta Delgada in this time of the year is not very busy, and even in the rest of the days it is Ok. It is a small city!

Bye! Have a nice preparation in your vacation!
