HoHo Bus

Can anyone tell me if the HoHo buses are still running in Coimbra and if so where do you board them? We will be coming by train to Coimbra. Hopefully the bus stop will be near the station as we have a person with us that is not able to walk long distances. Thank you.

The panaramic bus is running. Here's more info: turismodecoimbra.pt/en/tourist-routes/fun-ta…

The bus stop is near the Astória hotel which is a 2 min. walk from the railway station.

No you don't get out of it that easily!

B is in Tomar lounging in Templar Country by pool and river giving therapy in the pool to his sore paw!

Guess we'll have to wait till he's back in the saddle in Lagos! ;:))))

Apologies to Iamtullahlula for the little interruption and uncertainty! :)

There we go:

Coimbra has two railway stations, Coimbra A and Coimbra B

In this case it's close to Coimbra A.

Here's a copy from Cubsur's site:

"COIMBRA - B is the main station where all the trains from Lisbon and Porto stop. It is however about 2km (1 ¼ miles) from the city centre, hotels and University. There is a local train service into the city centre Coimbra station every 15 - 20 minutes every day.

COIMBRA is the city centre station. Local trains connect with all the main line trains at Coimbra - B. NOTE - if you wish to travel to or from COIMBRA (ie the city centre) make sure you get a ticket to COIMBRA and not Coimbra - B. "

Coimbra it is. The city centre station.

Coimbra B means nothing but Coimbra Junction. (B being short for bifurcacao or junction. Apologies for incorrect phonetics but using UK keyboard,) As I recall there are a whole lot of bus stops right outside the station, so the job might be finding the right one.

No, not the bus stop right outside the station. Just walk across to the Avenida Emídio Navarro (the main avenue in front of the station) and you'll find the bus stop just after you've passed the entrance of the hotel . The hotel is on your left, the avenue goes along the river (right).

Thanks everyone for the info. We are coming in from Figueira and have to change trains at Coimbra B for Coimbra A. Once there we are somewhat famililar with the area. I believe there is also a tourist centre around that area as well. We'll just look for the Astoria and we'll be fine....thanks again!
