Seeking an odd place to stay...

My gf and I will be in Lisbon for a couple of nights and I am trying to find an interesting place to stay. I mean, we can stay at a Ramada or Best Western anywhere. What I want to find is a hotel that says "Lisboa" in its atmosphere. Several people have suggested the Bairro Alto area, but I am hoping for a few more specific suggestions. Searching online has been futile, as the pics always look fine never really seem to show the atmosphere I am looking for. I've tried google searching such terms as "quaint", "weird", and "strange" , but not finding what I am looking for. So, if you know of a hotel/motel/b&b/apartment etc, that has a unique Lisbon feel to it, please let me know.

Thank you

As Janelas Verdes comes to mind as to something with a portuguese feel to it, the area is definitiley off the touristic track, although its hard to define a quaint, weird strange hotel...

We booked a different apartment in Lisbon for June but seriously considered this one:

It is a renovated Convent and looked gorgeous!
