Tiara Park Atlantic Lisboa Restaurants in Area?

Hello Everyone,

I'll be attending a meeting at the 4 Seasons Ritz but we are flying in a day early and will be at the Tiara Park Atlantic, just for one day.

Just a few questions please.

We will take a taxi from the airport to the hotel, we arrive around 1600. Is the taxi voucher the best way to do to this and if yes, how do we get one? If not, is the advice to go up to the departures area still valid?

We will have been traveling from the US connecting in London so don't plan to do much that evening but we're wondering what restaurants are close for dinner? Is there anything walking distance and is it safe to walk in the area at night?

The next day we will have some free time before we move to the Four Seasons. We are also looking for a place for breakfast near the hotel.

We're considering going to Belem for the day. What's the best way to get to Belem from the hotel?

Thanks for any help!

Hi,

i am not sure taxi would be the best (and cheaper) way. You can take the metro from airport to Marques de Pombal station.

As for restaurants, there are some restaurants in the area, for example La Trattoria. If you walk to Avenida da Liberdade you will see some more. Near the hotel, In Av. Eng. Duarte Pacheco and surrounding streets you have some coffees where you can have your breakfast

To Belem you can get the bus ( http://www.carris.pt/en/buslines/pesquisa/?origem=Marqu%EAs+Pombal&destino=Bel%E9m ) or taxi, but bus is cheaper.

There's no metro station in Belém.

For just the one free day is the hop on hop off bus a good idea? I think the red line goes to Belem?

How comfortable will be we be dragging our medium sized rolling suitcases onto the metro?

Hi,

honestly I don't know the hop on hop off bus routes, maybe for just one day it would a good option to visit plenty of know places using the best time possible.

No problem, a lot of people carry suitcases on the metro. Of course, taxi is easier, but If I had to choose I would take the metro, but I would understand if someone prefers taxi ;)

If we want to just take the regular bus to Belem, it seems the 727 would be perfect. Can we buy the bus passes at Marques de Pombal?

Hi, you can buy tickets on board, 1,80eur each.

Other option, you can buy a "7 Colinas" card or a "Viva Viagem" card (0,50 eur) and you can charge it as you want as each trip will cost 1,40 eur. In Marques de Pombal you can buy it in these places http://www.carris.pt/en/points-of-sale/orange-area/letra-M/Marqu%EAs+de+Pombal/

The cards is only worth it if you make more than a few bus trips. If you're just using it once or twice you should buy the on board ticket.

From the airport: see "taxis fares and more" under the top questions (right hand side of this page).

If you plan to use the metro, there's the journey planner which is a great tool: http://www.metrolisboa.pt/eng/ You'll see that you have to switch lines once to get to the hotel. (I don't like it when carrying a suitcase) Besides taxis and metros you can take the Aerobus to Marquês de Pombal. From there it's only a few minutes walk to the hotel. yellowbustours.com/pt/…

Breakfast you can get in any 'pastelaria' (coffee shop). I haven't been in the area for a while but there was a 'croissantaria" in the street behind your hotel. http://goo.gl/maps/8kjiZ

The Hop-on-hop-off bus goes all the way to Belem, here's a map: https:/…158.pdf The bus is a good way to see the city.

Hi everyone,

We made it to Lisbon and arrived at the hotel around 20:00. We only had time for a short walk but I noticed there are a lot of bus stops in the area of the Marques,. How can I learn which stop the 727 to Belem uses?

Also, if we pay the bus fare on the bus, does the driver make change on the bus or do we need to have the exact amount?

Thank you!

It's near the metro stop: http://goo.gl/maps/TqEPT

Here's a timetable: www.carris.pt/pt/autocarro/727/ascendente/

The driver will have change but you'll make it easier to carry enough coins.
