This link is for one of the tour buses which does a trip to the North Coast, including the caves. It is an open top bus company.
This Company also has Cave trips in their itenerary
It's a good trip, very enjoyable, nice tour and information. Also has a cafe and gift shop.
You can take the bus to Sao Vicente. It's a 25 minutes walk to the Grutas, which are on the west side of the village.
From the centre you first walk to www.estalagemdovale.com (which I only mention here as a reference point) , see their location map. From there it is 1 km to the south, ask the hotel if you need.

Actually better not going to Do Vale, as when going up to that hotel, there's a road to the left , 300 meters before the hotel, that goes to the caves. Search Grutas Sao Vicente at Google Maps. It's next to hotel Casa da Camelia.Edited: 19 February 2013, 17:40
If you decide to use local buses, be very sure that you get up to date timetables asmany are due to re route many journeys from this weekend as buses can not for the time being use Ave De Mar.
Many thanks for your replies. I will probably use the yellowbus tours for the trip to the caves but the information on the TJWalking site is really useful and will make it really easy to figure out the different bus companies and which we need to use
Again many thanks
Only 18 days to go now....can't wait
Just wondering if you visited The São Vicente Caves in the end and how you got there? what did you think of the tour or method that you used?
