BBC & ITV in Madeira

Pestana tell me that satellite transmission to Madeira has changed and BBC & ITV are not presently available. We don't tend to watch much TV when on holiday, apart from keeping up with the news, but ardent soap fans might be affected.

All the BBC signals from the Astra satellite were lost overnight back in February.

All the ITV channels followed a few days later.

The only channels left were Sky News and shopping but they may have gone now as the satellite was due to be put out of service.

Everything went on to another satellite giving a better signal to the UK but nothing to most of Europe.

Really, we were lucky to be able to get it and all Europeans could get UK TV for free, not good business for the TV companies obviously.

Like flowercity we stream via Filmon but there is a big court case in the USA in June which might stop that as well.
