Airport to Hotel Eurostars das Artes

Hi All,

Having read the forum and checked Googlemaps, I'm still not sure how hilly it is between the Aliados Metro station and the hotel. Is it walkable (both quite fit but with wheeled bags in tow)? Are taxis hailed or from ranks only?

Many thanks,

There’s a bit of a climb involved but it’s not impossible. As an alternative, you could try getting off at Carolina Michaelis station, it will mean a slightly shorter metro journey and very little climbing. On leaving the station go left to Rua Oliveira Monteiro, fo down that street and cross Avenida da Boavista and continue down Rua Anibal Cunha on to Rua de Rosario. The area is a bit shabby but not in any way dodgy, although there’s no doubt that the walk from Aliados station would definitely be a more pleasant introduction to Porto from a sightseeing viewpoint. Taxis are hailable, if the little green light on the roof sign is on, it means they’re vacant.
