Porto restaurants/cafes with a baby

Are there any reasonably priced restaurants near Castelo de Santa Catarina or in the Porto town centre that are baby friendly (we will have a 7 month old with us that will need a high chair)?

You don’t need to worry. As a foreigner living in Porto for several years I can tell you that there are few cities in Europe as child friendly, indeed Portugal is on the whole a very child friendly country. And as far as price goes, you’ll find that Porto is very reasonable compared to other cities.

The only small problem I would point out is that your choice of accommodation is located on the rather shabby upper end of Rua Santa Catarina. There’s not a lot in the immediate vicinity, on leaving the hotel you’ll need to either turn right, and walk about 15 minutes to the pedestrianised end of the street, where there are plenty of choices, including the foodcourts in the Via Catarina and Gran Plaza shopping centres; or else turn left and head up to Praça Marques de Pombal, where you’ll find some cheap and cheerful eateries. From here you can also take the metro (yellow line) to other parts of the city.
