Greek Islands served by direct flights from the UK

Hello

I was wondering if anybody could help with my question please?

I am hoping to go to one of the many lovely Greek Islands for my holiday in early September.

I know not all the islands have airports so would prefer to stay on an island that has an airport so do not need to bother getting a ferry.

Does anybody know which of the islands have direct flights from the UK please (preferably Manchester or any of the London airports).

At the moment I'm aware of Crete, Skiathos and Zakynthos.

Thank you

Hi,

Try Kefalonia, Lesvos, Samos (I think from Manchester if not Gatwick), Corfu, Rhodes, Kos, Santorini. Think that's it. You could also look at Kalamata (Pelopponese) and Halkidiki in Mainland Greece.

If you visit the Manchester Airport website (www.manchesterairport.co.uk) then click on "flight information" then "destinations search" and set the country to Greece it lists all the destinations and airlines flying to them from Manchester both scheduled and charter.

You can do a similar thing for London Gatwick and Luton but you will have to look down a long list of destinations and spot the Greek islands on the Gatwick site and use a destination map on the Luton site.

I believe there are only scheduled flights from London Heathrow to Athens.

Hello Holiday Girl

Looks like you might have similar plans to me. If you hear of any good Manchester deals let me know.

You’re right, thank you My Belle for your help.

You have to get the ferry to Thassos though, you fly to Kavala on the mainland.

Oh yes forgot about the ferry but it was no trouble they were running every hour when we went and it took an hour to get there.

Such a lovely island too although it was a few years ago now.

Yep, beautiful island, the ferry isn't a problem. I think only Thomson do Thassos now as a package since the demise of Kosmar. Shame!
