We're looking to do a family trip to Greece as we have never been. We're a couple in our 30s from the U.S. that will be traveling with both sets of parents and siblings - some coming from Western Europe and some from Asia.
We don't want to bother with renting cars if at all possible. Also, two of our siblings have young children (under 12 mo.) and feel a little wary of staying at super touristy places such as Santorini or Mykonos. Currently we're thinking of staying at Naxos for 4-5 days and doing day trips to some other islands (Delos, Santorini, etc.), then heading back to Athens for 1-2 days to catch our flight. Would love to stop over in Hydra if given the chance.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on a recommended itinerary, or any other centrally located island/ homebase we should consider...please let us know! Looking forward to your insights.
