Rome, Athens, Santorini, and Mykonos in May

Thanks in advance for the help!

Looking to book a last minute trip with my sister to head to Rome and a few places in Greece. We fly into Rome first, then Athens, and we're looking to divide up 4 nights between some of the islands in Greece. Does everyone recommend Santorini and Mykonos? We're both around 30 and like a combination of relaxing, food, sightseeing, history, and of course she likes to shop!

Any suggestions for areas to stay in any of our stops? We were thinking near Plaka in Greece, Thira in Santorini, and not sure for Mykonos...

Thank you again for the help,,

Kyle, Santorini and Mykonos are two of the most popular destinations in Greece (and two of the more expensive places to visit). Nevertheless, both are very good choices for the priorities you listed.

Mykonos is a great place for relaxation in May and, with over 300 restaurants, you'll have plenty of choices for dining (all kinds of cuisine, not just Greek food). For history, you can't beat taking an excursion to nearby Delos island to view the historic ruins and visit the archaeological museum. And as for shopping, your sister will love Mykonos Town. It's packed with shops, including tons of jewellery and women's fashion stores at all price points (from Tshirt shops to Louis Vuitton and everything in between). For accommodations, you get to choose between staying in/near Mykonos Town (so you can be walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars etc.) or at a major beach resort area (many of which have regular bus service to Mykonos Town). Given your priorities, though, I would recommend staying in/near Town.

Hi there

Four nights is just three full days, scarcely enough time for one island let alone two. I'd stick with Donny's suggestions and make it Mykonos with a side daytrip to Delos
