An earthquake of 6.5R magnitude took place 20 - 25 minutes ago off coast the Northeastern part of Lemnos island in Greece, in the Northeastern Aegean.
Situation is still evaluated.
Up to now, 3 reported lightly injured people in Lemnos - Greece and unfortunately appx. 100 - 120 people in Istanbul and Canakkale in Turkey from the exact same tremor (!).
It is quite astonishing how the quake did not cause casualties in the island it took place, while it caused injuries in neighboring countries.
Situation is still evaluated, i guess more news for any damage or injuries will start rolling. Still, it seems things are going quite well and under control, at least in Greece.
Some aftershocks of substantial magnitude are definitely expected. Again: situation still evaluated, but it seems no substantial damage took place on the island directly affected.
We did not feel anything here in Athens *at all*.
