Flight time changes,advice required.

We have just recieved an e-mail from Lowcostholidays today to inform us that our flight to Heraklion from Gatwick with Monarch on 16 sept at 17.30 has now changed to 20.00 which now has us arriving at 02.05 which we're obviously not happy with.I've checked the Monarch flights from Gatwick for the 16th and there are still seats available on an earlier flight at 12.50 which gives us a much preferable landing time at Heraklion,i have been on the phone to Lowcost to vent my spleen and try and get us moved to the earlier flight and they have said they will enquire with Monarch as to the chance of getting us on but as yet i've not heard from them.

Basically i'm asking for any advice as of what my rights are if they come back to me and say they can't get us on this earlier flight as we are seriously considering cancelling altogether and re-booking elsewhere, are we likely to lose money if we do cancel?.

Any advice gladly recieved.Thank you.

You would probably get more information on the air traffic forum. If you're not on a package holiday, it's almost always better to book directly with the air line rather than a third party.

Thank you both for taking the time to reply, thats a very useful link and i will post the same questions on there. At the moment i'm still trying to correspond with Lowcost as to the chance of changing to the earlier flight time although it's hard going trying to communicate with them as their English is none too good and my patience is wearing thin with them.

As regards to booking direct with the airline,we quite often do but the price that was offerd by Lowcost was too good to miss as a package and even booking direct with an airline does not guarantee no flight time changes.I suppose i should just take this one on the chin and look forward to our holiday regardless of the inconvenience that Lowcost has caused us,but as is often the case the most annoying thing is the way in which the customer is treated. If we want to make changes to our booking we are charged left right and centre with admin costs etc. but when they want to change things its put up and shut up and get on with it and if you don't like the changes you can cancel or change your booking and we will charge you for that too.

Rant over.Garry.

It's not just their "terms". You buy a non refundable ticket that has rules attached to it by the airline, not the agent. Maybe reading the T&Cs before booking would help?

Agreed in terms of changes, but it is in terms of their cancellation fees.

The flight provider avro were most helpful and easy to deal with, they agreed pretty much straight away to change us to the earlier flight that we prefered and at no extra cost,it has since taken me another two weeks with numerous pointless phone conversations and e-mails for lowcost to get their act together and send me the new flight itenary so that i could print this off and re-book airport parking and transfers to suit. They eventually did this with an additional admin charge only to then e-mail me the following day to inform me that we are now unfortunately back on the flight out of Gatwick that we were not happy with and yes Leylandsunaddict they quoted the smallprint and how this happens occasionally.

Hence i have now had to yet again change car parking and transfer times i have one hell of a pounding headache and i wish i'd NEVER EVER decided to use slowcost, lesson learnt i guess.

LCHS

But you knew what their admin charges were when you booked.
