Hi it happens to work at Pireas port next to where cruise Costa ship deck is...

Make sure you will never take one of the taxi drivers along the cruise decks...Most of them they offer you private tour and they try to find victims....

There is a subway station 15 minutes walk from there....

and the cost of the train ticket is 1 euro only....You stop after about 6 stations at Thission station and you are under Acropolis monuments...you can walk there to the most important sites..

Here a map of where the Costa ship cruise deck locate..

You will be at E11 Gate...from there you have to walk to E6 Gate and croos the perdestrian bridg to Pireas station ..from there Thission Station is about 15 minutes...

If you dont want to walk you can take the bus Pireas to Perama...but it is actually a fine walk especially if you make it through port

If you want any other info let me know..as im responsible for Pireas Port...

Thanks for the info. Do all of the cruise ships dock at this port? We'll be on RCCL in April. We're usually cautious of the taxis at port for the very reason you mentioned.

They might not, there are 2 points on the south side of the harbour Term 'A' and 'B' and also small cruise ships may dock at Zea Marina. The latter 2 are 2 mi (3 km) from the Green line station (ISAP) in Piraeus, mentioned earlier.

You need to find out from your cruise ship company, surely they should be supplying such information.

If you like a look of what it is like - here is an album showing the main port of Piraeus ("Lysbildevisning" means "View slideshow"):

The cruise port is at no. 46. You walk along the port from there until you reach the station at the start of the slideshow. Like Gas has mentioned, it is appr. 15 mins walk from cruise port.

Hello. Can you tell me please how often does the train (Metro line 1) run? How much time should we allow to get back from Athens to Piraeus?

Thank you.

I thought the metro ride was about 25 minutes to and from central Athens, but a resident will have a more accurate answer.

that sounds about right, aound 30 mins or so. Trains run regularly, this is the site,

www.isap.gr

it's actually a train, {not underground} although referred to as metro line 1, or green line, so don't get confused.
