Flat Taxi fare from / to Athens airport

Please remember that if you use a taxi between Athens Airport and hotels / areas in inner city ring in Athens, fare is flat ( 35 euros at daytime, 50 euros at night time ), with ALL applicable surcharges included.

So, toll cost, luggage fee, VAT, airport charge, meter start are ALL included. Don't fall for some taxi driver that may tell you "it's 35 euros + toll cost etc ).

More info here:

www.aia.gr/pages.asp?pageid=988&langid=2

Only thing not included is appointments, meaning calling a radio call taxi through your hotel reception or making an appointment to have a taxi waiting for you to take you from point a to point b. Nevertheless ALL applicable charges on a normal taxi ride are included.

Hi,

How many people can share a regular taxi? My tour guide said it's three! Why it is not four?

Also what is the cost for a ride from Piraeus port to Acropolis museum?

Thanks!

For 35 euros flat rate (this will be 11,6 euros per person) you can do the SMART thing and get a taxi that will take you in 25-30 minutes to your hotel door, this is for me the most logical solution since it does not involve changing of metro lines or walking.

For 20 euros group ticket (6,6 pp) you can take the metro as per your hotel's site instructions

www.royalolympic.com/athens_hotel.php…

you will need 50 minutes for this since it involves line changing (plus the waiting time for the metro which can be up to 30 minutes since the train leave every 30 minutes from the airport to downtown)

for 5 euros pp you can take the X95 to Syntagma and than take the red line metro as per as per your hotel's site instructions or walk 1km to your hotel this will take around an hour

all in all don't be cheap ....TAKE A TAXI...you will be glad you did...:):)

.. you won't find anything more economical than just grabbing a cab from the cab line at the airport for a flat rate of 35E by day.. any pre-arranged cab pick-up will cost you more! As far as shuttle buses, there are none.. the only 'bus', is the dedicated express #95 that runs to Syntagma Square already mentioned for 5E p/p;-) EnJOY!

If you arrange taxi from hotel to the airport is that still 35E flat fare? or do you have to pay extra

Do not arrange a "pre booked" taxi it will cost you at least 50-60 euros,do the flg:on the day that you are living 20 minutes before you go just ask the hotel reception to call a (RADIO) taxi for you ,you will only pay a 3-5 euro surcharge (some taxis do not even charge this any more due to the crisis and the extremely high competition between cabies for customers)

Of course if your hotel in central you can go to the taxi stand (most of the hotels have nowdays enormous taxi stands w/ many taxis waiting for potential rides to the airport) and simply get in a taxi and go to the airport w/ the 35 euro flat fee,you can always hail a taxi on the street too, taxis are so plentiful and available these days that using them is a breeze, not like in the old days when the borrowed money and fake afluency of the locals spoiled the taxi drivers that had a lot of work (sometimes they did not even stop and they chose rides) nowdays they are your humble servants..:)
