Hydrofoil Ferry

Hi - can anyone tell me if I am able to book in advance the Hydrofoil ferry from Athens to Mykonos or Santorini? And between the islands.

Kind regards

There are no hydrofoils, they are fast catamarans or monohulls which you can book about April when the Hellenic Seaways timetables come out.

None at all. They are yesterday's technology.

You find hydrofoils , usually named "Flying Dolphins" in Greece, on the routes from Pireus to Aegini, Agistri, Hydra, Poros. They are all old vessels, built either in Russia or Norway in the 80's, but still reliable in sheltered waters.

Arn't the flying Dolphins the first to be cancelled when it cuts up? The conventional ferries and Ozzie made Fast Ferries being a bit more reliable?

Both Flying Dolphins, SeaJets and HighSpeeds are much more vulnerable to bad weather than the ordinary ferries.
