Arriving in Athens from Amsterdam

Hi

will there be customs in Athens from Amsterdam? We arrive in Athens at 4:05 from Amsterdam , originally leaving from Atlanta GA USA, We have a flight from Athens to Heraklion at 7:05.

Is this enough time to make that flight?

thanks

More than enough time.

Arriving from Amsterdam, there won't be any customs or passport control, except an odd-rare customs check on some passengers. So, basically you go to the luggage carousel, retrieve your luggage and exit the arrivals zone.

3 hours is more than enough time for an on-time arrival from Amsterdam. After arrival, exit the arrivals zone and walk towards one of the elevator shafts, go one level up to Departures, check in for next flight, then find a spot to spend some time, it will be around 04.40am - 04.55am by the time you get luggage and make next check in, except if you are already checked in all the way to Heraklion. Shops will be closed that early but cafeterias will be open. That's a medium size, all-under-the-same-roof airport, so pretty easy to navigate,

You 'll pass security again. Boarding starts 30 minutes before departure time, so plan being at the security line of your gate at least 45-55 minutes before departure time. That's a fast, efficient airport and security is strict but fast moving. No need to go directly to security; security is at the very end, right before the gates and no shops afterward, so no need to go directly there; still give it some time.

I 'd start walking to security 50'-60' minutes before flight, it's appx. 5' to any security point, so basically 06.05am - 06.10am is when you should leave the coffee shop to leisurely walk to the security line :)
