Samira Gorge

Does anyone know if it's possible to pick up a taxi at the end of the Samira Gorge to take you back to the beginning (and where you left the car!) and if there are any waterfalls along the gorge? Thanks.

Presuming you mean Samaria gorge between May and October

Sorry no way a taxi can take you back at the beginning & no waterfalls either.

For waterfalls at an island better try Samothraki

Hi,

You are better off joining a one day tour or using public transport since you will need to take a ferry from the bottom of the gorge to Hora Sfakia, Sougia or Paleochora. And, from one of the three places mentioned it is possible to take a bus. The most common/popular of the three is Sfakia. There are no waterfalls along the gorge but there is running water, especially during the first part of the hike down.

Almost everywhere in Crete offers a tour including the coach transfers Andy mentions. Where are you staying?

Impossible, you need to do more research on the Samaria gorge walk, there is no road at the end, you walk or take a boat out.

No waterfalls, if there were it would be during a flash flood and closed because of the danger(suicidal).

Paleochora or Sougia are suitable starting points by car, staying overnight or get there before 06:00. You take a bus to the start and a ferry out at the end from Ag. Roumeli back to Sougia or Paleochora.
