We are going to Elounda in the last week of October is it possible to do a day trip to Santorini?
I'm pretty sure that the fast cat stops at the end of september.not sure about the ordinary ferry, but bear in mind that it is a 4 hour sailing each way.
I'm sure someone with more knowledge will come along soon !
there are high speed ferries until at least the 27th of october, best to check with local travel agents in elounda regarding day trip. www.gtp.gr will give you ferry details as a guide.bear in mind you will have to get from elounda to heraklion and back plus 2 hours each way on a boat.the cost is something in the region of 120 euros if you go for the island tour option.
Also bear in mind that the flying cats can be very uncomfortable in all but the calmest of seas, and can also be cancelled in rough weather.
Richard is correct here - it's about 130 euros for the daytrip and from Elounda, it will be very rushed as you'll have to get to Iraklion ( at least an hour each way by car) to take the CAT, then it's a 2-hour sail to Santorini. So at least, three hours' travelling either way.
The only boat that will run is the flying cat and it will arrive at 11.30 and departs at 17.45, I recommend one night hotel in Santorini, they will be cheap end of this month
