Quiet accomodation for last night-convenient to airport

Hello Trip Advisors,

Husband and myself are looking for a quiet, nice accommodation in early July for our last night in Crete.

We would consider either hotel, B and B or apartment with positive reviews, also convenient to a good place for dinner. The next morning we have an early international flight leaving at 9am. We'd want to stay within 15-20 minutes of airport-can also be in a nearby city. Will also likely have a rental car to drop off. Price range would be anywhere from $90-$130 US dollars.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

The nearest hotel to air port is the Sofia. www.hotel-sofia.gr Will be there one night at the start of holiday.

Sofia is in a suburb of Heraklion called Nea Alikarnassos. It's almost exactly one mile from the terminal building, so it is pretty close, but maybe not walkable if you have luggage. I'm not familiar with the area, but I'm sure there will be plenty of restaurants nearby.

The town centre of Heraklion is only about 2.5 miles from the terminal building, so would give you more choice and be within your timeframe.

But your call, naturally.

Hi

Right, Sofia hotel is 1km away from the airport and from bus station 150meters walkin or 5 min by taxi.

Very close is the traditional tavern Mournies and close by is Mausolou street where on both sides and further down close to the sea there are plenty of taverna's ouzeri's and rakadika.

The airport is only a short 10 min taxi trip from the city. Take a look at Lato Boutique hotel. It is overlooking the port and is a short walk from the pedestrian streets in the city center, or to the Archeological museum. http://www.lato.gr/the-hotel

Thank you all for yoru suggestions.

So Lato looks like it may fit the bill since it's in the town center and offers bigger rooms.

We are leaning towards springing for the Galaxy as it appears nice and gets good reviews.

Since we have an early flight the next morning, would anyone know if these hotels near the airport offer complimentary airport shuttles? (at least they do in other places we've traveled.) That way we could return our rental car the night before our flight. I've already emailed the Galaxy to ask this question and received no response yet.

we stayed last night at Lato after our 2200 arrival to the airport. great staff, clean rooms. we had a taxi arranged by the hotel for 15 euros. great breakfast, but you might have to leave to early to take advantage of it.
