Personally I research before I travel so when we go to Delos we will not have a guide. DIY and guides both have their pros and cons. It's really a matter of personal preference.

If you google Delos you will be able to read all about it and then you can decide if a guide is necessary for you or not.

Unless you are on a really tight budget I would recommend doing a guided tour.

I have never seen anybody who has regretted doing the guided tour whereas some people who do go by themselves can be a bit bored or disappointed.

Was on Delos last May without a guide. Although we had a written guidebook with us, it was simply a bit boring without the stories/background. After 10 minutes we simply followed an american group who had a guide & enjoyed their guide's explanation :)
