Seajets vs Hellenic Seaways

All,

We need to take the fast ferry from Mykonos to Santorini on June 6th and there are two options, seajets and hellenic seaways. Both leave around the same time. Hellenic seaways is showing business class online but seajets seem to only have economy.

I was wondering if there is any major difference in these two companies.

You don't have those options on 6 June, an off Wednesday for the FC 4.

It's the 14:30 Superjet direct, or 09:50 Seajet 2 to Paros and then Bluestar ferry to Santorini.

The Superjet/Seajet 2 are one class small catamarans and that's it.

The two catamarans are about the same size, but I would choose Hellenic Seaways over Sea Jets. At the moment SeaJet 2 is covering the route normally run by Superjet, which has been delayed in its return to service from annual refit.

Sea Jets Consortium has four catamarans: Cosmosjet will be laid up this summer after experiencing engine troubles last September. Megajet and Superjet are still in annual refit, hopefully returning to service in June. Only SeaJet 2 is currently sailing, covering both its and Superjet's routes.

R_H is correct. I guess it's SeaJet 2 or Superjet, then. ;o)

Superjet is back in action. Today it did a trip from Heraklion to Santorini. I'm not sure how long this will last or what it's deputising for as it doesn't appear on any timetable site.

Superjet did the Rafina-Paros run today; according to Openseas it is also doing that tomorrow and from Saturday Seajet 2 and Superjet will be back on their normal services. According to both Openseas and GTP, Cosmos Jet is due to start the Heraklion-Santorini service next week.

The best website is each company's own.

Megajet is now out of refit, and in the Santorini caldera as I write this post. No sign of Cosmosjet, which, as I wrote in post #2 is reported to be laid up for the summer.

Superjet has resumed its normal service today. Seajet 2 has spent the day in Piraeus; according to Openseas it resumes the Rafina-Mykonos-Paros service on Friday, so presumably it will sail to Rafina some time tomorrow.
