Mykonos Honeymoon - Platys Gialos?

I was wondering if i could ask for a little advise or feedback on where to stay in mykonos as part of our honeymoon for 6nights in september.

I think we have decided to stay away from mykonos town, travelling into the town maybe 3 of our nights and get a late bus or try get a taxi back, obviously visit the town a couple times in the day too but primarily spend our time relaxing and hanging round the beaches.

so i was wondering where in the island to stay and what would be a good hotel stay in?

we would like a area with a few good restraunts to spend our evenings which we are not going to town and a area with a good local beach and easy access to other beaches. We would like a hotel which offers a good sea view and price isnt too much of an issue.

we were thinking Platys Gialos may be a good area as i believe a few beaches are within walking distance or boat trips to others like Eila may be avaible, is that correct? Hotel wise we were thinking maybe Myconian Ambassador but would appretiate any other suggestions.

any feedback on an area you would recommend staying or hotels for us would be great.

Platis Gialos would be a very good choice for the points you mentioned -- good beach; proximity to other beaches (4 are within walking distance; 4 more can be reached by shuttle boat right from Platis Gialos); and a good selection of restaurants for dinner (don't miss Avli tou Thodori right on Platis Gialos as well as Nicolas taverna a 15-minute walk away at little Agia Anna beach, on the way to Paraga. Both are excellent.)

We stayed at the Ambassador some years ago and really enjoyed it; in particular, the views from our room were amazing (the hotel is built against a hillside, so it offers some of the best views at the resort area).

I posted photos shot from our balcony in a post at this link on my travel blog: mygreecetravelblog.com/2011/…

Photos of Platis Gialos beach can be viewed in my blog post at this link: http://tinyurl.com/PGBeachPost , while several brief videos of the beach can be viewed in this post: http://tinyurl.com/PGBeachVideos

Petasos Beach Resort & Spa is arguably a better property at Platis Gialos, (we have also stayed there and would recommend it), but it's more expensive and though its views are good I don't think they are as good as Ambassador's.

If you don't care about spectacular sea views, check out the Argo Hotel. It placed #6 on the Top Bargain Hotels list in the 2013 TripAdvisor Traveller's Choice Awards.

I would suggest you to stay in Platy Gialos because now the prices are much better than the previous years so at the same price you get great resorts.

I would recommend you Palladium Hotel which ranks 9 in Mykonos and it's a five star hotel and it starts from €136 a day. http://www.hotelpalladium.gr/ and they offer for free the car hire or the half board at the regular price.

Another choice if you wish to stay waterfront is the Petinos Beach hotel http://www.petinosbeach.gr/ with even lower prices.
