Do ferry tickets need to be purchased in advance?

We will be taking a ferry from Mykonos to Santorini on Friday June 21st and was wondering if these tickets need to be purchased in advance or can we purchase the week of? We rather spend more money and get there faster so not sure if tickets for the high speed ferry are limited?

Thank you!

If you want to be sure of a ticket you may as will prebook, since you know the exact date you are travelling. With a choice between Sea Jets Superjet and Hellenic Seaways FlyingCat 4, I would opt for FlyingCat 4. Book directly with Hellenic Seaways.

All ferry tickets are subject to capacity limits. You can buy tickets on Mykonos up until departure time no problem for most ferries.

But on that particular route/catamarans that day of week probably wise to book it's oversubscribed by tourists.

Book direct with the ferry company and collect paper tickets whilst there.
