I'm arriving from New York/JFK to ATH at 9:15am, is there enough time to make it to the 10:50am flight from ATH to Mykonos/JMK?
Hey and welcome kl237:-) With that arrival time out of JFK, am assuming here you'll be on the only direct available via Delta?;-) Despite delays taking off, they usually make up for any lost time in the air and the flight has a good/timely arrivals hisotry! Having said that, you'll need to go through formalities which include passport control, luggage reteival.. re-check in for domestic flight so if your arrival is timely, you should be good to go;-) On the other hand, a delay on arrival.. if you happen to be last on line at immigration, etc.. whatever, may cause a miss considering the gate for isle flight closes around 20-30 min prior giving you basically around 65-70 min for the connect;-)
So, bottom line, it's a personal call.. depends on your comfort level.. the risk factor is there for a miss.. ask yourself how much would this inconvenience you and if are you prepared for the consequence involved with a Plan B 'just in case';-) For the most part, a min of a 2 hour spread is better to ensure the connection.. 2.5-3 hours even better to cover for any incoming trans delays! Doesn't hurt to see if there is later flight around noontime via either Olympic or Aegean.. nothing worse than starting off the vaca with a miss;-) Happy planning.. and enJOY!
