Is it possible to travel between these places?

Hello all!

I'm planning to travel to Greece with my mom in july/2013.

We really want to get to know Athens for 3 or 4 days and then spend the rest in some islands. Two of them I really want to go: Milos and Ikaria. We also would like to visit Santorini and Mykonos, I know they are very busy but also very beautiful. We just want some time to relax and some calm and blue waters. So do you guys know if this is a possible journey? Something like Athens-Mykonos-Ikaria-Santoniri-Milos? We are not thinking of renting a car.

We are open for recommendations. Thank you so much!

You will have a problem with Ikaria to Santorini. Basically that would involve going back to Mykonos or Syros if the ferry on that route does not stop at Mykonos (I have not checked but it not always does). Most ferry timetables for the summer are out so you can check your preferred dates on

Seriously, think again. Far too much dodging about with multiple ferry changes. It's as if you chose those to be as difficult as possible and then give yourself no time, add in Athens and then you want to relax.

It is verging on the ridiculous. OK I know it, and it's not easy for beginners but explaining it in detail would take ages.

Sensible routes....get going straight away to the Islands, put Athens at the end, doubles as a buffer for your return flight.

1) Piraeus > Milos > Santorini > Mykonos > Piraeus(Athens).

2) Piraeus > Ikaria > Mykonos > Syros > Piraeus(Athens).

Even those involve 4 locations in 2 weeks and the travelling time cuts in to that. For a more relaxing time cut out an island or Athens visit.
