We will be in Naxos early October and from all accounts most businesses will be open especially in Naxos Town which is a year-round town. Some of the smaller towns may have some business shut down but I believe there will be enough open throughout the island to have a great time . . . and since the High Season is over there should be less tourists to get in the way of tourists like us that travel to Greece in October! We normally travel to Greece in early-to-mid October and the weather is still very comfortable and you can even swim in the Aegean! A little better chance of rain but nothing to spoil your fun..

Some hotels and tavernas will be closed in the small tourist dedicated resorts, but like said above Naxos Town is alive all year around - and this also goes for the interior villages.

I always go in October myself, and find it an excellent time both for weather and for exploring.
