We always stay at Hotel Asteria, right on the beach, very basic but comfortable and clean. An upper floor sea-facing room with balcony (and stunning views overlooking St. George bay) is 60 euro/night double in July; here is my review from our stay last summer: tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g580192-d497… Next door, there is also Thomais Studios and Kalegis Studios, both get good reviews and have sea view rooms. Hotel Glaros is a boutique hotel with sea view rooms (not all have direct sea-facing views however), and a little more expensive. You can go to booking.com to look for availability and prices. Have a great trip!

We stayed at Studios Naxos in a third-floor studio with kitchenette, two bathrooms, lovely bedroom with double doors opening onto a small balcony overlooking the bay and beach for 30/euros a night last Oct. I would think you could get a similar price for September. The owners picked us up and dropped us off at the port and gave us a bottle of local wine. The studios is just a 10 minute walk to the Old Town and an even shorter walk to a town square with tavernas, shops and businesses if you don't want to go to far from your studio. I recommend it and will go back given an opportunity.

All of the hotels mentioned in the previous two posts are well regarded and are on or very near the beach with sea views.

Crazyh has the best priced option, Glaros has the most class and is probably triple the price while Studio Kalergus does have cooking facilities so car help you stretch your budget.

Here are images of several hotels on St George beach. This summer I am going to have to visit Studios Naxos and add them to this album.

Just want to say that we are not cheap but we are economical. Traveling to Greece during the off-season offers one of the best bargains in all of Europe. You can get very nice accommodations at unbelievably low prices. There weather is still good, the ocean temps are very nice, there are less tourists and you probably will get better service most anywhere you go. Our stay at Studio Naxos was just wonderful. There are probably many other places to stay that offer the same prices and service but I would not have a problem going back to Studios Naxos.

Stayed in Hotel Spiros in 2012 and have booked again for 2014. Spotless. Very helpful owner -Stelios. We easily walked into the town every evening. Has a great little pool. Perfect for a dip after coming home after a lazy day on the beach.. We did not have breakfast so can't comment as we always loved to try out new places on our short walk into town. Unless it has changed... Don't eat from the cafe with dice. Weak coffee and poor food compared to others on the harbor. Stumbled across a yummy bakery in the old town- Stan might help with the address- and made coffee and gorged on warm bread and cheese on our little balcony. A very short walk to a bus that dropped off at all the wonderful beaches including Plaka. Stelios helped us get a good price on a hire car which we had for a couple of days to explore little villages Just my opinion, but the very worst meal we had anywhere in Greece was In Koronos Village at Matinas. Possibly just an off day! Have only heard good reviews from stalwarts on TA Gorgeous place but she warned us when we arrived that one of her dishes was two days old and stale!... and she did not recommend. Sadly we had the goat - only other dish available. Absolutely tough, inedible

Whoops! Our room only had a limited view of the sea. The pool, clean room and helpfulness of the owner made up for this. We thought the location was great. Quiet at night. Stroll to everywhere.
