Parikia or Naoussa for 3 days at the end of August?

Hello,

We're a group of five around 25 years old travelling to the Cyclades Islands the last week of August. We are planning on staying two nights in Paros. I've read a lot of forums on Parikia vs. Naoussa but I'm still not sure about which one is better. I've read that Noussa is a resort town and seems a little bit fake so right now I was thinking on staying in Parikia but I want to double-check.

We want to go to nice beaches (not overcrowded if possible) and relax but also go out at night. We are planning on renting a car or scooter (if we rent a car, is it easy to find spots to park?) so there's no problem if the beaches are not walking distance. Would you recommend Parikia or Naoussa?

Also, I've seen some photos of sea caves in Antiparos. Is it possible to rent a boat or join an excursion to do a round-trip of Antiparos?

Thanks!!

There is nothing fake about Naoussa, but with only two days for Paros I would stay in Parikia.

Yes, you can see the sea caves of Antiparos on a round-island boat trip, which will take most of a day. Here is one, and there are a couple of others: https:/…288632217901851

The round-island trips live from Antiparos around 10pm, but you can arrange to be picked up at Pounta on Paros if you wish. To go to Antiparos, drive to Pounta (the port) and take the 7-minute ferry across.

Agree with Heimdall.

For five persons, car rental is better and cheaper solution. Mostly, should not to be a problem finding spots to park nearby beaches.

It may depend on where you get the best accommodation deal.

Wherever you stay you should spend one evening in each. The old harbour and old streets in Naoussa are very pretty at night and are a must see. Parikia is also attractive at night - wander along all the little streets and back along the promenade by the sea.

For beaches at the end of August you will best going in your hire car to Golden Beach or New Golden Beach in the East side of the island facing Naxos. You may even like the Club type culture of Pounta beach on the East Side od the island again jsut past Logaras, where the beach is also quite good.

Just for clarification, Pounta (or Punda) Beach Club is a different place from Pounta, the port for Antiparos. Pounta Port is also a major kite surfing centre. Here is the Punda Beach website, not yet updated for 2014: http://pundabeach.gr
