Group of villas for a small wedding

Hi there!

My partner & i are wanting to get married in Santorini next May. We are doing all the legalities here and are wanting to have the ceremony and holiday with my family over there.

Theres a party of approx 10 and im wanting to book out a small complex of villas (3 or 4 houses) that has a great terrace suitable for a ceremony that can be converted to an intimate reception whilst were out & about getting photos.

I would like any advise on accom that would suit this! Ideally a family owned complex that would able to help us with the flowers, live music and organise a greek BBQ and drinks. Its going to be very casual so i dont really want a wedding planner as such. Also someone that could give us a blessing- can someone do this for us privately?

Any info & advise would be awesome!

Thanks

Shannon

Hi Shannon. We were married on Santorini in 2004 and stayed at Villa Ilias which is owned by the Damigos family.Although we organised all the legal stuff beforehand so that the wedding ceremony which was in a local church there was the official one the Damigos family helped us tremendously in the months leading up to it.Not just with the Greek end of the red tape for the wedding but also with trips we arranged for our guests while we were out there. We visited a winery and had an evening up in Oia, we hired a gulet type boat another day and sailed around the caldera with food and drinks laid on, it was fantastic.

Villa Ilias is in Firostefani, a beautiful twenty minute walk along the caldera rim into the main town Thira. It has a little private terrace with tiny pool facing onto the caldera, the view is stupendous. We has around 30 for our trip and we took up all the rooms at the hotel.

Check out the website villailias.gr. I can not recommend this place and indeed this family enough. If you need any more info just ask.We plan to return next July for our tenth anniversary!

The owners of villa Ilias are very nice and I can also recommend it to you. They have 2 cave houses except their rooms at the hotel. The cave houses (see Traditional studio and apartment) are beside each other and can accomodate 3 and 5 people. It's not far from the hotel and you can easily walk between the two if some of you stay there. http://www.villailias.gr/

Other option is Villa Kisiris in Imerovigli. They can arrange a small ceremony. The villa has 4 bedrooms and can accomodate 8 persons and extra beds if needed. http://www.kisiris.gr/

Have a look at Fava residence in Finikia also. Can accomodate up to 11 persons and there is a good map to understand how it looks like..http://fava.com.gr/index.html
