Santorini cash vs charge

Heading to santorini may 19-25th

Flying out of athens on the 26th

Curious as to what does / doesn't take charge ?

Trying to figure out how much cash to bring.

Thanks for any insight !

Depending where you are staying there are usually ATMs to withdraw cash. Cash is king in Greece, I rarely use my credit card apart from if we hire a car or in duty free at the airport.

Many smaller places will only take cash. Even those who do take cards prefer cash as they get charged by their banks for processing card transactions.

And many businesses that do take cards will charge you the same extra % transaction fee the banks charge them to use the card system.
