Ferry arrives Patmos at 3:15am. What to do?

Is there any place we can get some rest?

Would it be too cold to just lie down on some beach on July 10?

We plan to visit the cave and the monastery in Patmos, then head to Samos. There is a slow ferry leaving at 11am, arriving at 14:30, and the Aegean Flying Dolphin is 1 hour leaving at 17:00. Is there a huge price difference? Do we have to book the tickets early or we can just buy the tickets in Patmos? We will be there July 10. Is the ferry going to be full?

What to do in Samos?

Thank you!

'Ferry arrives Patmos at 3:15am. What to do?'

1) You may find room renters at the port to meet ferries even at that hour. You could book a hotel.

2) Plenty of cafe/taverna seats to crash until sunrise.

3) If you walk to the right for 5 min there is a small strip of sand to crash on. It's warm enough in July but likely to be windy.

Start of the hi-season so ferries are liable to be reasonably full.

The 'Nissos Kalimnos' ferry is half the price of the Aegean Flying Dolphin and a much more interesting route calling at small islands on the way to Pythagorion. It does not matter it's slower it gets you there way ahead of the Hydrofoil. Buy tickets in Patmos is easiest, not sure you can book the 'Nissos Kalimnos'.

Well, why go there if you don't know. Pythagorion where the ferry goes is actually a good place to stay on the island.

There are loads of other islands right down to Rhodes to stay on, daily ferries from Patmos.
