hi..the ferry schedules don't seem to be out yet..
you can check last year's schedules here to get an idea...
no guarantees that they will be exactly the same, but they usually are similar..
go to the ''search for a trip''option at the right, pick from ''rodos'' to tilos, choose august 2013 dates and check the schedules..apart form tuesdays and thursdays all the other days there was an afternoon ferry that would suit you
As far as I can see last year on a Friday there was only the Diagoras leaving from Rhodes to Tilos at 19.10 and arriving
around 22.15. That uses up almost all of your first evening.
Personally I would have a night in Rhodes relax and have a good meal, old Rhodes town is lovely if a bit expensive.
The next morning the Sea Star leaves at 9.00 in the morning and get in to Tilos at about 10.20.
This schedule though may not be the same next year and you will need to keep checking. try tilos-travel.com
Thank you very much for your reply, it looks promising that we will be able to get across on the Friday, also a very useful website.
I think we would probably still rather cross the same day if possible, we go to Halki every year so are quite used to hanging around for hours waiting for the ferry !! The good thing is when we leave Tilos on the following Thursday we can get the Dodekanese Express straight to Halki in the afternoon, unless of course that timetable changes !!
It's a bit too early at the moment to say. Usually the Tilos Seastar leaves about 9.30 am. But there are others sailing from the old port. The timetable is usually the same each year. We always stay over night near the port. We do the same coming back and leave Tilos a day early. There are some good hotels around. We use the Hermes - convenient for the Seastar and the Old Town.
