How much for a Lobster? Best Fish Restaurants?

Hey all,

We're off to Lindos for a week at the end of August 2011. Can't wait!

I live in landlocked Switzerland so am dying to eat some fresh fish and seafood.

Could anyone tell me how much a lobster costs per portion or per 100gms in a restaurant? I haven't had a lobster in years!!! :(

Also, can you suggest excellent fish restaurants where you are guaranteed to eat fresh fish & seafood? The simpler the restaurant, the better.

Many thanks!

Oh Lord ... nobody had a lobster or fresh fish in Rhodes?

I'm sure I'll find something while I'm there.

We always go to Kozas in Stegna the fish is always fresh and you can choose which fish to eat, I have seen them serve Lobster but I don't know the cost or if it has been pre ordered,

You will love the location as it looks right over the sea you just can't get any closer.

You'll find plenty of places selling fresh fish and lobster by the kilo. Arhontiko in Lindos always has a good selection of fresh fish and though i've had fish in several restaurants I can't say i've taken much notice of the price.

The fish in Rhodes is v expensive and mostly imported. Try the restaurants in haraki bay ten min drive from lindos towards Rhodes - you can sit right beside the beach and it's beautiful. I had a nice sea bass for 21 euro but the lobster is huge price. About 65 euro.

Didn't someone once say "If you have to ask the price, you can't afford it"?

Thanks fantasticday, Will keep this in mind. I definitely don't want fish that is not fresh or caught locally. Lobster was of a similar price in Kefalonia.

TweedKelso ... hehehehe. You might have had a point. BUT considering I live in Zürich, you shuld know why I ask for the price beforehand :):):)

65 Euros is half the price compared to what we are charged in Switzerland, and it's not even fresh here!

I have told fantasticday elsewhere on TA , fish is caught locally on Rhodes

The fishing boats go out every night from the likes of Faliraki & Afandou etc

The following morning you can buy freshly caught fish from vans which tour the islands villages
